Exchange Council of Eurex re-elects Gustav Gass as chairman

At its constituent meeting on Thursday, 27 January 2011, the Exchange Council of Eurex Deutschland re-elected its Chairman as well as the Vice Chairman for a period of three years. Gustav Gass, CEO Gass Capital Markets GmbH, was again appointed as Chairman and Lars Hille, board member of DZ Bank AG, will continue to be Vice Chairman.

Prof. Lutz Johanning, WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, and David Alan Martin, J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd., have been elected to serve as investor representatives on the Council.

The Exchange Council consists of 18 members and was elected on 25 November 2010. Eurex’s approximately 410 trading members were eligible to vote.

The Exchange Council is the highest controlling and supervisory body of an exchange. Its main responsibilities are the supervision of the Exchange’s Executive Board as well as the enactment of Exchange Rules.
