La Banque Postale, a Paris-based bank active in retail banking, insurance corporate and investment banking, joins Eurex Repo’s GC Pooling market after being live on its Special market since 2020.
The move will allow La Banque Postale access to deep liquidity pools via a cost-efficient and low-risk solution for secured money making trading, according to Eurex.
GC Pooling is a joint product between Eurex Repo, Eurex Clearing, and Clearstream that offers a liquid market for secured funding and the re-use of collateral across transactions.
The product also facilitates funding in a range of currencies against various fixed income and equity collateral baskets.
Fabienne Zamfiresco, head of repo and securities financing at La Banque Postale, says: “Our new Eurex GC Pooling membership gives us access to a large cleared tri-party repo market. This will allow us to further optimise our secured liquidity management in line with our ambition to expand our development with institutional clients."
Tilman Fechter, global head of banking, funding and financing at Clearstream, adds: “Making the most efficient use of cash and collateral is becoming more important for market participants. We are pleased to welcome La Banque Postale to GC Pooling where they will be able to further optimise their day-to-day liquidity.”
