Cryptocurrency platform Gemini has appointed Martin Tell as vice president of finance.
In December 2021, Tell announced that he would be stepping down from his role as global head of securities finance at State Street, while Gino Timperio expanded his responsibilities to assume leadership of the securities finance division.
Tell had served for eight years at State Street, beginning his tenure with the firm as global head of finance trading for enhanced custody in 2013.
He brings 35 years of experience to his new position at Gemini, which includes a 20-year term at Morgan Stanley.
Tell departed from Morgan Stanley in 2007, where he most recently served as global head of equity funding, equity repo, and securities finance, as well as chief financial officer of global equities.
