The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) has appointed Kumeshen Naidoo and Louis Dirker as the new chair and vice chair, respectively, of ICMA’s Southern African regional committee.
Naidoo is head of debt capital markets at Absa Group, while Dirker is head of debt capital markets at Investec – both based in Johannesburg.
In their new roles, they succeed the previous chair and vice chair of the region, Monwabisi Zukani and Gillian Raine.
Regional committees represent a key component of ICMA’s work in the capital market, connecting its forums, working groups, and advisory structures with local participants.
Responding to the appointments, Bryan Pascoe, CEO of ICMA, comments: "We look forward to the leadership of Kumeshen and Louis in strengthening the ICMA community in Southern Africa, as well as with members and the broader market across the African region.
“Their guidance will be instrumental in supporting ICMA’s role in the development of robust markets across the continent."
