Eurex Repo has admitted HSBC as a clearing agent for repo transactions, enabling Dutch pension fund manager PGGM to expand its access to the centrally cleared repo market.

As buy side participation continues to grow, firms can access a network that provides financing and cash investment capabilities across more than 14,000 eligible securities, the firm says.

The onboarding of HSBC as a clearing agent aims to support the buy side ecosystem by mitigating counterparty risk through central clearing, while optimising post-trade liquidity management.

According to Eurex, the framework offers efficient straight-through processing capabilities across trading, clearing, and collateral management, to participants.

Anja Kleefsman, head of treasury and liquidity management at PGGM investments, says: “Expanding our access to centrally cleared repo markets through HSBC as our second clearing agent supports our ongoing focus on strengthening our liquidity management, operational resilience, and risk management.”

Frank Odendall, head of funding and financing products and markets at Eurex, adds: “Growing buy side demand continues to drive the expansion of our cleared repo ecosystem.”
