OCC securities lending loan ADV climbs 15 per cent YoY for April

OCC securities lending activity has grown 15.0 per cent YoY by average daily loan value, climbing to US$134.2 billion for April.

This corresponds to a 33.9 per cent YoY increase in total securities lending transaction volume cleared through OCC for April to 189,502.

Total cleared futures and options transactions have increased 9.4 per cent YoY for April to 782.8 million contracts, with average daily volume up 4.2 per cent to 41.8 million trades.

ETF options contracts cleared through OCC rose by 55.4 per cent YoY for April to 249.4 million, with average daily volume increasing 42.0 per cent to 15.4 million transactions.

Index options activity rose 26.3 per cent YoY for April to 47.0 million contracts, with ADV up 28.3 per cent to 2.4 million trades.

In contrast, equity options contracts cleared through OCC contracted 9.9 per cent YoY for April to 437.0 million, with ADV down 12.5 per cent to 23.8 million trades.
