EquiLend has appointed Tony Camarota as head of Spire product.
Spire is a platform and technology-driven hub for securities finance firms of all types, including agents, principals, beneficial owners, and collateral managers.
Based in Boston, he joins the company from Brown Brothers Harriman, where he was most recently managing director, head of data, performance, and reporting for BBH Capital Partners.
Camarota held numerous senior roles with the firm over a 17-year-long tenure, including as global head of securities lending operations, where he oversaw all securities lending post-trade activity.
Prior to this, he served as head of digital product programme management, having responsibility for the daily oversight of the product design team and digital execution.
He has spent 10 years in securities lending operations holding various management positions, during this time he co-chaired ISITC’s Securities Lending Working group.
Commenting on his new appointment, Camarota says: “I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences and people who have helped me grow throughout my career so far. This next chapter is all about building: better systems, smarter automation and more impactful tools that meet the evolving needs of this industry.
“There’s great work already in motion at EquiLend, and I’m thrilled to be joining a team that’s so clearly driven by innovation, collaboration and a bold vision for what comes next.”
