MUFG Investor Services has promoted Paul Collard to global head of trading for Global Securities Lending Solutions.

Based in London, he will lead the firm’s global trading strategy across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific.

In addition, he is responsible for overseeing a global trading platform focused on delivering securities lending solutions, execution, and value for institutional clients worldwide.

Collard first joined the firm in January 2020 and has more than 20 years of securities finance experience. He brings deep trading expertise with disciplined risk management and a collaborative leadership style, the firm says.

Throughout his career, he has played a key role in expanding global lending capabilities, particularly across fixed income and international markets, while helping to develop a follow-the-sun trading model that connects regional expertise with global opportunities.

Prior to MUFG Investor Services, Collard was head of fixed income trading for the Agency Securities Lending business of Deutsche Bank in London and, prior to that, he held a similar role at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

Commenting on his promotion via an online statement, Collard says: “It’s an exciting time to assume global responsibilities. What was once a collection of regional markets and localised trading desks really has become an interconnected global ecosystem.

“Securities lending is now a market where geography matters less than ever before. We are one global trading desk operating seamlessly across time zones. This means we have to work closer together than ever before, embracing diversity of thought and experience whilst providing a genuinely global approach to serving our clients.”
