Marex onboards Fontes as first capital introduction hire in LatAm

Marex has appointed Vitor Fontes as the company’s capital introduction team member in Latin America.
Based in Brazil, Fontes will support the expansion of Marex’s capital introduction activity across the region, connecting hedge fund and family office clients with institutional allocators.
Jack Seibald, global co-head of Prime Services and Outsourced Trading at Marex, says: “We are seeing growing demand for our capital introduction services globally, and Latin America represents a significant opportunity for us.
“Establishing a presence on the ground in Brazil allows us to deepen our relationships across the region while connecting clients into the reach and capabilities of our global capital introduction platform.
“Vitor’s appointment is an important step in building that regional presence and further strengthening the support we can provide to managers as they grow.”
As part of Marex’s prime services team, Vitor will work alongside capital introduction colleagues in the US, UK, Asia, and the Middle East.
He brings almost a decade of experience from global financial institutions, together with an established network of LatAm-based institutional clients and allocators.
Most recently, he was an institutional relationship manager at UBS, with a focus on wealth management and building relationships with hedge funds, family offices, and pension plan managers.
Prior to that, he held several roles at Credit Suisse, initially as a client services representative and subsequently as an analyst in prime services sales.
The appointment comes at a time of increased demand for Marex’s capital introduction services, a key solution within the firm’s broader prime services offering.
