Argentina securities lending programme in final straight

Argentina’s securities lending programme is expected to get the green light from the local National Securities Commission this week, according to Alejandro Berney of Caja de Valores.

The Argentinian exchange, Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos’s, regulation on securities lending and short selling is waiting for permission to proceed.

According to the head of Argentina’s Central Securities Depositary (CSD), the proposed lending programme has not been rolled out yet.

The National Securities Commission (CNV) has approved the framework.
