Jean-Robert Wilkin has left Clearstream following more than three decades with the firm.
Based in Luxembourg, he exits his current position as senior advisor, business development, Collateral, Lending and Liquidity Solutions.
Wilkin joined the Cedel Group — predecessor to Clearstream — in 1993, where he started in operations, initially involved in both securities lending and the multi-currency triparty repo service.
In May 1996, he moved to product management as a repo product specialist, responsible for the business development of triparty repo.
In 1998, Jean-Robert joined Global Securities Financing (GSF) sales to cover Continental Europe.
He later took on responsibility of the GSF sales team of Clearstream Banking, a team responsible for the distribution of triparty collateral management services and securities lending and borrowing services.
Wilkin took on a number of senior roles, including within Global Funding and Financing (GFF), and Banking, Funding and Financing.
In an online statement about his early retirement, Wilkin says: “It has been a full career and a fantastic ride for me in Luxembourg and everywhere else.
“Thanks to Cedel/Clearstream as an employer, thanks to my wonderful colleagues over three decades and thanks to all of you — clients, service providers, competitors, advisors — who I have met all over the world and who have animated and enriched a very exciting career and a rewarding professional life, entirely dedicated to the improvement of financial market infrastructures for the global securities financing market.
“I wish I will have again the opportunity to meet a lot of you in the years to come even if going forward — I plan to spend my active time in a very different sector and industry.”
